Barrie Alderton Estate Agents was established in 1990 right in the middle of the property crash of the late 80's early 90's a difficult baptism for any business. At the time the only estate agent in the Hanover area and innovative in the approach to Estate Agency. The style was and is always approachable with friendly yet professional manner and Barrie Alderton can still not understand the hard sell and arrogant manner so many agents adopt. He was also the first agent in Brighton and Hove to discard the Suit and tie for a more casual dress, which has now been copied by other agents in the City.

Barrie Alderton's is a family run company with Geraldine Alderton, Barrie's Wife heading up the letting side of the business. Victoria Alderton their daughter is residential sales manager at the Southover Street office.

Already members of the Brighton and Hove Estate Agents and Auctioneers Association, Licensed members of the National Association and the Ombudsman Scheme . The company recognised the Buy with Confidence Scheme as the next step in being able to provide the best possible service to the public. With CRB checks and all procedures and agreements approved by Trading Standards the company are proud to be the only combined Estate Agent and Letting Agent in the scheme for Brighton and Hove.

Barrie is a Fellow of the NAEA and a past President of the Brighton & Hove Estate Agents and Auctioneers Association and a recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association in 2006. Following in her fathers footsteps Victoria is Vice President of the Association for 2011.
