Customize your signs and do it DIY style
Written by Mike Carter on December 22, 2008 – 11:24 am -On thousands of streets across the UK, you typically see agent signs like the below picture

It’s possible you are using one of the many sign-design firms to outsource this activity. Well instead of plastering your logo on a board following the Estate Agent 101 book of old, maybe standing out from the crowd can contribute to your “return on investment” from that sign. John Kalinowski of LiquidBlueRealty.com thinks he’s got a better way, custom signs from his own printer. Have a read and you might just find out that DIY can be part of your marketing mix.
The internet is outpacing the agent in the find process.
Written by Mike Carter on August 14, 2008 – 2:22 pm -According to a recent study by US-based ForSalebyOwner.com, consumers are increasingly using the internet to ‘find’ a suitable property rather than relying on suggestions from the agent. It you look at the data compiled it seems like the two methods of finding property (yourself or the agent) will cross-over in a couple years time. Interestingly enough, finding property by seeing a yard sign outperforms newspapers by a factor of 5. It would be interesting to get the NAEA to do a similar study to see where the UK market sits, although with the current trends I would assume it’s very similar.
If you’ve got some anecdotal data on this would love to hear from you.
