Zoomf partners with iLOOKABOUT to offer killer virtual tours…
Written by Mike Carter on August 6, 2008 – 10:42 am -Listing photos are important, I’d hope we all understand that by now, but virtual tours are seriously where it’s at if you want your listing to stand out from the others.
The showing of a house is one of the most important parts of the marketing process. Naturally, if you can give a prospective buyer a walk around the property without them ever leaving the comfort of their computer screen then you’re going to be at an obvious advantage.
I’m not implying that a virtual tour could ever replace a real viewing, but it could be that icing on the cake that secures a viewing in the first place. By the time a prospective buyer even calls you up, they’ve already had a 360 degree view of every room and have decided where the TV will go. And clients who have mentally moved in are the kinda people you want to be dealing with.
So, you’re convinced. You want to be one step ahead of the other agents in your locality and be pimping properties with stellar virtual tours. How do you go about it?
Luckily for you, Zoomf has partnered with smokin’ hot digital-imaging company iLOOKABOUT to offer cutting edge virtual tour photography. iLOOKABOUT uses the most up-to-the-minute technology to capture images in the most authentic and accurate way possible, seriously we have been very impressed by what these guys can do.

A midweek chuckle…
Written by Mike Carter on April 2, 2008 – 5:45 pm -It’s Wednesday evening, almost time to go home, and if you just read the last post then you may be in need of some light relief! Luckily, I have just the site for you. My favourite real estate blog, REagent in Connecticut, is approaching its first birthday. To celebrate the occasion, Athol has compiled the worst of the ‘Bad MLS photos of the day’ in to one horrific blog post. To those not familiar with the blog, Athol is a man on a mission to get top notch photos used in all property listings because, as you will see, so many agents are using the bizzarest of photos to try and sell houses.
See the contenders for worst property listing photo of the year, here. Oh and it’s an American site, so you can guarantee some real humdingers. Yeeeehaw!

A picture tells 1000 words…
Written by Mike Carter on August 23, 2007 – 2:35 pm -…or in some cases a picture tells you three very simple words - ‘DON’T LIVE HERE’.
Following on from Mike’s post about decent photos in listings, our attention was drawn to this rather amusing US blog that publicly shames agents photography skills on a daily basis. There are some absolute crackers.
For example, I have always fancied my own jacuzzi (who the hell hasn’t?!) but I don’t think this photo would have enticed me to book a viewing of this sad property…

Or what about this lovely living room?

You couldn’t make it up!
Zoomf will definitely be subscribing.
Earn more trust with more pictures…
Written by Mike Carter on August 22, 2007 – 11:38 am -As you know, Zoomf is not an estate agent. We’ve been learning a lot as we go. One area that seems to boggle the mind, ok maybe just me, is the fact that some agents still list one picture per property and then it’s of the outside of the building.
Why is that of use to anyone? I understand that quality of photos and videos is a big issue and if you have the marketing budgets, then I’m all for hiring professionals to take videos and pictures. If you’re low on marketing budgets, then why not YouTube and your camera phone? A great article recently published on how Craigslist and YouTube make a great combo.
Being transparent with your customers is what they want. Give us pictures, videos, sound. The internet has loads of cheap and effective tools to distribute this content. Tell us you’re working on better versions of that badly edited video but give us a glimpse! We’re more likely to trust you if you did…..
