- Barratt culls 1,000 jobs. Diving demand for new homes has left Barratt Developments having to close six offices and lay off 1,000 members of staff, 15% of it’s workforce. Taylor Wimpey, the UK’s largest housebuilder in terms of volume, laid off 900 members of staff earlier in the week. Read more at The Guardian.
