Validating the next generation

It looks like AOL is starting to realize what most people in the property Web 2.0 space already know;

  • maps are valuable
  • valuation tools are valuable
  • more data is valuable

As posted on the Future of Real Estate blog recently, AOL is finally waking up to the opportunities of Web 2.0 and the subsequent product features it creates that users are demanding.

If you look at the exit traffic for most major UK portals, mapping websites and local information websites are very high on the list. In case you don’t know what exit traffic is…. simply put, it is where your users go next after visiting your website.

So what does that tell you from a product perspective?

  1. Users need maps
  2. Users need more local information

Simple stuff right? Well sometimes it’s the simple stuff that gets left behind.
